SPK Music #04 Funkist - No Ar!
Um rock com influências da música africana, com ótimas canções instrumentais! Hoje, o SPK-MUSIC tem o prazer de lhes apresentar a banda FUNKIST! Então, acomode-se e aperte o PLAY!
A banda FUNKIST foi formada em 2001 e consta atualmente com cinco membros. Mesmo que conste como uma banda de J-Rock, é fato que as influências dessa banda vão até aos ritmos africanos (em especial o Reggae), se tornando uma banda com estilos alternativos, e até diferentes para o gênero ( o que me agrada muito neles). Seja pelo vocal empolgante do Saigo, ou pelos belos solos de flauta da Yoko ( como na música Keija no Fuku Kaze, que é só instrumental e coro), é uma banda que merece ser apreciada.
Seu primeiro contrato foi em Julho de 2008, com a Pony Canyon. Até então, eles viveram e se divulgaram como uma banda indie, conseguindo lançar três álbuns. Após o contrato, uma série de álbuns e singles foram lançados. Em 2009, saiu o single "Snow Fairy", cuja música com o mesmo nome foi usada como tema de abertura do anime Fairy Tail, enquanto lançavam seu primeiro álbum de estúdio: o SUNRISE 7.
E no ano seguinte, saiu o single "MAMA AFRICA" usada como tema da AFRICA CELLEBRATION, produzida pela empresa PUMA (logicamente, por causa da Copa do Mundo de Futebol em 2010, que fora na África do Sul).
No mesmo ano, foi lançado o single "ft.", usado novamente como tema de abertura do anime Fairy Tail, marcando de vez seu lugar no mundo das Anime Songs, lançado em seguida seu segundo álbum, o FUNKIST CUP.
E em 2012 veio o single SHINE, com as canções "SHINE", "NEW DAYS" e "Brave", todas do jogo Tales of Heroes Twin Brave, para PSP.
Junto com todos esses singles e álbuns, vieram as turnês ao redor do país, e canções-tema, tanto para comerciais quanto para J-Dramas (como a canção Ai no Uta, do J-Drama "Not Alone"). Os álbuns que saíam eram sempre músicas tiradas de shows deles, até que em 2011 eles fizeram um mini álbum, "Pieceful", mas no final de 2011, a flautista Yoko Kasugai faleceu, um fato muito triste para a banda. E para piorar a situação, o baterista Priest decidiu sair da banda. Sem dúvida, foi um ano ruim para eles...
Já em 2012 saiu o "7", terceiro álbum de estúdio da banda. Logo depois veio mais um álbum ao vivo ( o Live Venue Limited Edition FUNKIST LIVE TOUR 2011 "COLLAVOLUTION tour 2011"), e depois disso a banda nunca mais lançou outro single ou album. Vamos esperar que um dia eles retornem com força total!
